Teaching Assistant, University George Emil Palade of Târgu Mureş · PhD Candidate
Mihaela Trișcă was born in 1998 in Târgu Mureş, a multiethnic city in the heart of Transylvania, Romania. With a solid academic foundation in both law and history, she currently serves as a teaching assistant at the University George Emil Palade of Târgu Mureş, where she teaches Roman Law, Criminology, and the History of the Romanian Statehood.
Her interdisciplinary background enables her to approach legal studies through a historical perspective, providing a deeper understanding of the evolution of legal systems and social structures. She is currently pursuing a PhD, with research focused on the 1990s war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In her doctoral thesis, she explores the conflict through the lens of oral history and the case law of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), aiming to illuminate the personal narratives and lived experiences of individuals.
Her main areas of academic interest include international humanitarian law, the application of criminological theories to participants involved in armed conflicts, the history of religions, and the history of the Balkans. Through both her teaching and research, she seeks to foster critical reflection on justice, memory, and historical responsibility in contexts marked by violence and transition.
