Dr. Adisa Avdić is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in Turkey. She earned her PhD in International and Security Studies at Metropolitan University in Prague, where she also worked as a teaching assistant and served as Book Review Editor for the Central European Journal of International and Security Studies (CEJISS). She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Economics in Prague. Over the years, she has taught in Europe and the Middle East, covering courses such as Balkan Politics, Modern Eastern Europe, and International Migration
Her research focuses on peacebuilding, reconciliation, transitional justice, and post-conflict governance in the Western Balkans, with a particular emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Avdić has conducted extensive fieldwork on reconciliation initiatives and the memorialization of war crimes, especially in Brčko District. She regularly presents at international conferences and contributes to academic and policy debates on local agency, security dilemmas, and the challenges of sustaining peace in divided societies.
